Scheduled Servicing
For vehicles produced during the last 10 years, service mileage intervals have on the whole extended. Improved production techniques and more sophisticated lubricants have enabled this and the resultant saving in maintenance costs is often used as a marketing tool by car companies. One example is the Land Rover Discovery, where the service internal has jumped from 6000 miles on early examples to 15,000 miles on the Discovery 3/4.
Some vehicles are equipped with a “Service Indicator”, where a message is displayed on the dashboard to inform the driver when a service is due and in some cases specifies which type. Some of these systems take into account factors such as driving style, journey types, ambient conditions, etc. and as a consequence mileage intervals between services can differ considerably.
At Frogs Island 4×4 we subscribe to the “Autodata” system, an online facility which is constantly updated and provides us every detail we need to carry out a scheduled service on any model of vehicle.
Having provided us your vehicle details, current mileage and any service history, we can quickly supply you a quote for the next service due. We are also very happy to provide a “bespoke” service schedule, for example where the mileage service interval may not have been reached. Under such circumstances it would be wasteful and an unnecessary expense to stick rigidly to prescribed schedules.
