< bgcolor="#ff9900">Hi JJ,
I just wanted to say thanks for all the work done on my disco. I've done
about 400 miles since collecting it yesterday, including driving through
foot deep water in Romford today! Yep really, it was mad drowned cars
everywhere on a dual carriageway!

It's been so smooth I can hardly believe it. Steering is spot on, brakes
perfect.

So thank you very much for a job well done, very impressed with the
communication throughout the works, alerting me to the steering column
and sorting it quickly, and the overall friendly service.

I'll be back! Thanks again.

Frogs Island 4x4 did an absolutely fantastic job preparing our vehicle for our 25,000 km journey from London 2 Cape Town. Others told us we would never make it, due to the complex electronics of the TD5 engine on our Discovery 2. However the work Frogs Island carried out preparing our vehicle ment that we completed the trip suffering only from one flat tyre and a broken electric window. We travelled across some of the most hostile terrain in Africa including; desert, jungle, mountains and deep rivers without the car faultering once. I would like to thank the team at Frogs Island for all their help and hard work"

I had a new 90 with all the usual drawbacks i.e. slow to get going, slow and unstable at the top and unwilling to go round bends, Eddie patiently talked me through the options and prescribed a balanced set of solutions. It now drives like a car not a truck on-road with improved off-road capabilities, can’t believe the improvement, quite remarkable!

Good Afternoon Gerald,
The wheel carrier is excellent. It seems as solid as a rock, in terms of fitting and its weight has softened the ride a little, improving the comfort for my dogs! Thanks for the tour of the workshop and an insight into the various accessories and bespoke alterations you are able to provide. My Defender is in for the speedliner protector at the end of this month and I shall consider further items thereafter, contacting you for a formal estimate once I’ve decided.
Kind regards
Alan Johnstone
Hi Neil,
Thanks for the excellent Frogs Island service.

Can you thank who ever worked on the, mechanical,
structural and valeting aspects, all of which have been carried out to the highest standards.
Thanks again.

Dear Eddie, 25,000Km, 13 countries and nearly 10 months on the Pan American Highway- not bad for a city boy and a posh bird from the country! The car has been a winner and we’ve used everything you gave us. See you in may for some serious servicing! All the best Michael and EJ. Toyota Land Cruiser 80 series
Dear Gerald / JJ,
Just a quick note to say how pleased I am with the work you have done to my Land Rover 90 V8. It is like a new vehicle! It is very responsive when pulling away from traffic lights and even seems quieter on the motorway! The old 'clunk' from the transmission is now a distant memory!
It almost seems odd to be driving it and not have the temperature guage nudge towards the red - it stays virtually in the centre the whole time and the cab is definitely cooler - the overheating engine acted like a big radiator! That said, on freezing cold days like today it was quiet handy!
A great job - many thanks again. See you next Tuesday for the alloys!
All the best

Hi,
Please pass on my grateful thanks to your workshop manager. He pointed out to me the very bad workmanship of the windscreen fitters and advised that I should take the matter up with National Windscreens.
I have duly done so – the screen has been inspected and now has to come out again. Apparently the fitters used the old windscreen surrounds instead of replacing them. The motive for doing so is not completely clear. On Monday the vehicle is going into Medway Landover’s to remove the snorkel and the screen will be refitted or possibly even replaced again. The local branch of National Windscreens is doing the job and the Oxford branch have agreed to all the costs. Inconvenient for me as I have to delay my departure for warmer climes but I am so grateful for your help and observation. I would probably not have spotted it myself until the windscreen dropped out. Best regards

Hi JJ,
I'm just emailing to say thanks to you, Gerald and the mechanics for getting the vehicle sorted out this week. The Disco was a dream to drive on the way back home and looks the business with the new 'toys'. The extra effort taken to pick up the vehicle from my home and keeping me informed of progress was especially appreciated. I thought you'd like to know why we picked Frogs Island over the others. Both my wife and I were extremely impressed with the time you took earlier this year to show us around the facilities and explain what we needed for our trip. It was a change to find a company who recommended what we actually needed and not what was the most expensive item on the parts list. As a point of interest you were the only company who spoke to both of us .... everyone else spoke only to me and ignored what my wife had to say. Alongside this was my past experience with............. They were shocking at keeping to agreed budget and time scales (on the latter they are often weeks out). It's a relief to find a company who know's what their doing and delivers on promises.
Thanks again and have a good Christmas.

This is just a note to thank you and the Team at Frogs Island 4x4 for making me feel welcome during the fitting of the roof rack and lights to my Freelander yesterday, especially the technician who carried out a very professional job which I am very pleased with (would you pass that on).
Best regards

Hello John
Nick & I had a fantastic weekend, it was good to meet Eddie & get to know him & also get to know Paul & Anne from Onelife Adventure too. The Patrol performed very well, I think I made the right choices with the modifications thanks to your advice, Eddie said next time its down with you he'll get you guys to put stiffer springs on the backend because he felt it was sitting an inch too low when loaded. The roof tent well what can I say!! It’s my favourite new toy so glad I bought it and its going to get a lot of use. Putting together my list of things to be done next, which we pretty much discussed last time I saw you that is winch, roof rack, battery system & fridge, would like to get these done before August. Thanks again to you, Eddie & the guys who worked on my Patrol, I am really very pleased with it & am looking forward to putting through its paces on more Onelife expeditions.
Regards Craig
Hi Matt,

Having just returned from our trip to Morocco I thought I should write to thank you for all your extensive efforts to get my truck in shape for the trip. The truck worked wonderfully and more than met my expectations, this in no small part due to your excellent work and attention to detail.

Throughout all my working life I have been blessed in that I have always worked with folk who could understand my needs and who could meet, and often exceed, my requirements. In this regard you excelled yourself and I am truly grateful, and I will add to to that exclusive band of people. My thanks must also go to those others involved and whose input assisted the process, but you put it all together, and that was a key component in this project.

Thanks also come from Sue ( she who must be obeyed! ) as she needed to have her confidence restored after her/our experiences last year in the Disco. So well done - I WILL be allowed out again.

Thanks again and I look forwarded to seeing you when I come up to Frogs to have some adjustments/amendments/oil change etc done before we go off on another adventure.

Every best wish
Geoff
Dear Eddie,
Thanks to everyone involved with my Defender, we are extremely pleased with the work done and the reaction of the entire team.

Hi Eddie
I have had the Terrafirma springs & dampers fitted……Fantastic, I am really pleased the Defender looks brilliant. The height is a little more than expected, but that is not a bad thing I can still get into my parking space!!!!!!
I’ll send some pictures when I get around to cleaning off the mud.
Regards
Gary
At last I have both Defenders back in the Cwm. I'm writing to tell you how pleased I am with their performance and your workmanship.

On D12, the remote winch set up is excellent. It was a problem only being able to operate the rear winch from the panel by the driver's seat making singe handed use virtually impossible. The remote control means that the full potential of front and rear winches can be realised. It is an excellent bit of kit which deserves to be widely known and used.

The Ashcroft underdrive works well. The large tyre diameter does increase gear ratios and it is good to be able to go lower than low 1st using it. I don't know what you did last time the vehicle was with you (I'd be interested to learn) but the transmission noise associated with the underdrive has disappeared now. It really does seem to be a great asset with no drawbacks I'm aware of (other than the cost!). Your installation is much neater than an example I saw on one of Land Rover Experience's own vehicles at Eastnor Castle.

Finally, the Sony DAB radio has at last provided satisfactory radio reception, on both DAB and FM! The factory fitted item must be very poor indeed. I'll be changing the unit on D10 too. The only drawback is, it isn't quite as good at playing CDs which have more tendency to skip when traversing rough ground.

Both vehicles really are a pleasure to drive. The differences are quite apparent with both suited to their roles. The XS is a much better people carrier and pleasanter to drive long distances. The off roader is a real performance machine. Both show excellent modifications and workmanship. The design of the twin fuel tank system is particularly impressive. I'll get back in touch with the gentleman from LRO, these vehicles are good examples of how modifications should be fitted and I'm sure I would have been interested in reading about them when I was considering what to get done.

Thanks again,

David Howells

Dear Eddie,

I was thrilled when your July news letter arrived all be it in a messy format, but was captivated by the content and the written word. It was informative and exciting and was very happy to have received it. It certainly was a new and bold concept. However; when August’s news letter arrived, it made me proud to be associated with Frogs Island and more importantly Eddie Priscott. Your August news letter is in an easy to read and reference format, full of great writing and informative content. I will try to describe it in one word “extraordinary”. I love it and like many others will probably get more involved with events and sales of new and existing products as a direct result of your newsletter.

Keep up the good work and don’t let the bustards get you down.

Great great work and thank you for including me in such an adventure,

Vest best regards

Hello Graham,

RE: Landcruiser 80 Lifted Today

Very impressed with the way the vehicle now manoeuvres, much sharper on smooth surfaces. Have yet to try on bumpy roads but on the whole I think its great.

Thank you to the shop floor staff for a job well done, to Debbie for the coffee's and JJ for taking an interest in me and highlighting other areas of potential interest.

I would like to hear if the 12.5" wide Cooper ST fitted to another vehicle, scrub the wheel arches in normal use. The car looks great on its new high heels. I think new tyres are the next step forward, maybe the 35" will fill the arches too much hence the 33" will probably be my way forward.

If you could confirm the price of these that would be great. And since you sowed a seed of the snorkel, that too please with fitting.

Thank you

Earl

Hi there

Just a little email to say a BIG THANK YOU to you, and of course to Christian, for conquering the judder in our Discovery and for getting the MOT on Friday so I could go to the competition on Sunday ... which we won!

With best regards
